Wreaths

First wreaths I've seen in a while that I would actually want and/or want to make.

I'd kill for an antique drafting desk like this one

J.Crew

Is it just me or is J. Crew killing it these days? They HAVE gotten more and more expensive, and if I could afford to I would rather not buy mass production made over seas clothes anyway BUT all that said I love the styling they have been doing lately. Mucho intersting and all mixed up. Really loving it all. Ever since I can remember they have always had me drooling over their catalogs - this seasons holiday edition is up there as one of my favorites.

Wes Anderson

Another British Vogue find - an article about Wes Anderson. Ok, so I didn't read it, I was too captivated by all of the images! But I did really like this little diagram detail that was in the article. If you haven't seen any of these films it's time. They are all so visually stunning, like paintings done up in a million different frames. Darjeeling Limeted (image on the top right) has probably been one of my least favorite story lines of Andersons, but the colors, images, and compositions were mezmerizing. Can't wait to see Fantastic Mr. Fox. I loved that book as a kid and I can't wait to see his visual interpretation.

Artsy Fartsy Make Up

More finds in British Vogue. I like new visions of artsy make up even though I'm rarely caught with much on. It's like art on the face. A few here that I really liked.

Probably wouldn't do it on myself, but I love the crisp intentional lines they created here. I also really like how with such a precise eye they have her hair ratty and dirty. Nice contrast.

Another really beautiful eye I'd love to try on someone else. At least the line under the eye. Maybe for some crazy hip late night party it could be cool. It's like graphiti on the face or like a modern sophisticated version of war paint with a vixon twist.

Some close ups in case you were intersted. Love how the lines split and fade at the ends.

This one wasn't actually in the make up article, but I put it in because I really like her eyebrows. They're strong, yet clean. I can't say how much I dislike an over waxed brow. Maybe my least favorite thing that women do to themselves. Besides plastic surgery I guess. This 19 year old model says she doesn't wax, but pluck - I really should get plucking. I'm way to lax with my brows.

British Vogue Wins

Picked up the Brit version of Vogue while at Barnes & Noble the other day and as it turns out I'm a big fan. US Vogue can feel so mechanical and stuffy these days - maybe it's just because this was a refreshing change, but I found this mag to be sooo full of light interesting inspiration. Much more down to earth, yet still Vogue - esque if you will. Just a few finds:

It wouldn't be a Vogue with out some si-fi randomness. I like her styling here because despite her electric look she still comes off as natural.

Street Style Article

This little Tom Boy is my favorite

Of course I love any magazine that includes fun interiors with fashion - yes please.

Kate Moss circa 1993. I was 11, kind of weird. I still think she's stunning, but she worked it as a fresh faced teen here.

This wasn't even an article, it was a Uniqlo add, but still found it interesting

Another beautiful little project that I admire - The Shelby

Commune Design

Gorgeous shop found via Remodelista (of course) with so many things that make my heart flutter:

Some times it's hard for me to be happy for people who are making things that I really admire because I wish I was doing that - and this is one of them. Love hate it all.
