I'm nor usually into florals, but these florals from White Suede are calling my name.  I want to get to the consignment shop and find some vintage florals.

The Reader

I saw The Reader this week
It's initial impact on me was the the subdued colors and general simplicity.  The cinematography, set design, and "costumes" I guess you would call them were so serene and simple.

Though after mainly being taken by the visuals of the movie the plot went and got all amazing.  I thought it was a powerful story - definitely worth seeing.

House in Chihuahua

I think this such a striking project by
PRODUCTORA
The house is built into the ground to help regulate the heat & cold since temperatures in the area range from 0 to over 100 F throughout the seasons and changes up to 20 degrees from night today.
The result is this beautiful inovative structure that reminds me of a folded up piece of paper.
The elevation drawings are really nice too and help you wrap your mind around what's going on

More Office

Colors on My Desk

I have left this pile of things on my desk for days now meaning to record them.  I found them in an old folder, and they just happened to be together and I like the combination.  The ipod was not staged, but it seemed to work with what was going on.

Building Altonah

My Grandpa's building an "apartment" on to the back of the barn in Altonah.  This is the foot print.  I was so excited because I thought that the beautiful barn wood was going to be really cool on the interior walls, but turns out the inspector says it needs to be burried and insulated for fire saftey.  What a shame.  This wood was originally on his barn in Draper, Utah for 30 years, then moved up here 10 years ago or so to build this beauty.  Please don't make us cover it!

I took some notes and measurements while up there this weekend - going to help with the interior walls and interior set up.

Spring trying to spring up Millcreek

Utah Herritage Foundation

I nerded it up at the Utah Heritage Foundation Historical Home Tour last weekend by tour guiding for a few hours.  It gets me into the rest of the tour for free, so I'm always happy to do it.  I realize now that I should have posted about it BEFORE hand so there was slight chance I might convince people to come, but you'll just have to come next year.

Unfortunately I didn't think to bust out the camera until the final home, but it was one of my favorites anyways.

They had a lot of upholstered walls in this house - which is very traditional and rare to see.

I love the detail that was put into most of these old houses.

I promise I didn't set this up after I saw the post.  I'm basically just genius.
