Change of Pace

Because of the nature of what I do (independently work in interior design) my life can go from being really mellow - working 4-5 hours a week, skiing every other day, sleeping in most days - to non stop 80 hour weeks. Right now I'm in the later and I couldn't be more pleased/grateful/tiered. Last night I was up until 3:30 doing drawings and I was at an appointment at 9 going over plumbing with a contractor. I do love a change of pace.

I'm back in the city and it feels great to be home. I love switching to this after meandering the streets of Missoula only a week before. They both have great advantages and I hope to take full advantage of this one while I'm here.

Side note, I priced this beautiful piece for a client today. Unfortunately I showed them images of it before pricing it. $14,000. A little more than I expected.

Ranunculas

Still in love with these delicate little blooms.

Tenant

While in Aspen last week we walked into this great little shop that reminded me soooo much of Brooklyn. I loved it and I practically dragged the guys I was with in there. The guys that own the shop ARE from Brooklyn and had a lot of great stuff. I would love to open up a shop like that. Unfortunately they don't have a website, but they just sent me an invitation for a party with this image. Wish I could go!

Lindsay Adelman Studios

I love the fixtures coming out of this studio in NY.

Gites Ruraux Jupilles

I'm enamored by this structure by Eouard Francois Architecture. I wish I knew French so I could read more about it. I'm not even sure how to describe it, except that I like it.

Haus Interior

Another Lonny Magazine find. These are the kind of people that I love hate. How do you open a beautiful store in New York AND have a successful interior design business AND while being this young and relaxed looking???

J.Crew Collection

You know that especially expensive stuff you have been seeing in J.Crew lately? Well it's the "J.Crew Collection" - the high end clothing and accessories that J.Crew has been pumping out as of late. Well, it turns out they have now opened a store for these pricey pieces on 79th Street and Madison in the NYC. I read about it in the mentioned below online magazine and I think the store looks perfect. I think I'm more intrigued by the interior than the clothes. I'd love to see it in person.

Lonny Magazine

If you haven't seen it you must. Lonny Magazine is a new online design magazine by a former editor of Domino. Very similar to it's counter part - yet free! You can also link to all sorts of sources throughout.

Just a few highlights:
