Mrs. P Hicks
Once again Lizzie Garret over at Tomboy Style has enlightened me to another very cool producer. Mrs. P. Hicks produces hand made classic rugged shoes for chicks. If I was into casually throwing around $325 for custom shoes I would be very tempted by these beauts . . . very

Andrea Paustenbaugh & Nate Silverstein
I was lucky enough to tour the unbelievable studio of these two creatives - Andrea Paustenbaugh & Nate Silverstein - last week. They recently moved home after 10 years living back and forth between New York and Portland. I love finding people like this in SLC! Gives me hope for an exciting creative environment here in my home town.
Unfortunately I didn't bring my phone/camera to get some shots from the studio itself, but here are a few pics from a few of their websites. Yes, they have a few.
This is the only pic I found that's actually from their studio - it's on their site for their shoe lace rugs

Ripo
Found through one of my faves - The New York Times T Magazine Blog
I am crushing on this guys work. Part of it is because he travels all over the world to leave his mark - very romantic if you ask me. I'm also transfixed by his use of pattern, texture, graphics and negative space. Tom was a street artist in his previous life - maybe I can have him teach me some tricks!

ERIN MINKLEY
Speaking of pattern - an artist I know from high school (Erin Minkley, who is currently my new penpal - Facebook sure has it's perks!) has some work that has got me excited about pattern too. I am so unfamiliar (and frankly uneducated) about textile art and I have been loving perusing her work for inspiration.
PATTERN
Tom has been talking to me about pattern a lot lately. He's also pointing it out all of the time so during this past fashion week in NY and now all over Europe I find myself collecting all of these amazing patterns in my mind. One of my favorite things about the patterns I have been seeing is that they are graphic, loud, and unabashedly layered on top of one another.
I have been eating up all of the fashion week images!
