Gear

It's been fun the last few months focusing on well made products (mostly bags and outerwear) with Tom.  As a product designer and outdoor enthusiast it makes good sense that these would be things that he's interested in and I love being brought into a world of design that I other wise have just appreciated from afar.  Especially where fashion and outdoors products have been mixing. Tom has been working on getting a line put together that melds the two and we have been doing our homework.
Last month we headed down to a trade show put on by one of Tom's fashion idols (Nick Wooster) for Project Wooster and it was soo worth it.  Besides all of the new products there Wooster had brought in a handful of Japanese designers that he is especially excited about and we got a chance to see some of the pieces.
I can't wait to see what the future brings for us exploring these new avenues.

Eames : The Architect & The Painter

I just finished this film on netflix about these two design stars.  I know that they have always gotten a lot of attention, but I can't help buy admire them all of the same.  I love their ability to push towards new innovations while still embracing the old, worn, character of so many things.  My favorite part of the film was learning about their work outside of their furniture design too.  Such interesting minds.

Hand Eye Studio

I'd like to pretend that I would be capable of making one of these beauties - get me back behind that wheel!

Glasses

This girl needs some new glasses and I've got my eye on something like this pretty young thing has on . . .

5th Ave Apt

A peek at what I was working on in New York this December.  A 5th Ave penthouse filled with light, but also super low key.  This client is determined to keep things un-stuffy, which makes for a fun, loose finished product.
This is the first phase of what will be a three story re-build.

Fay Andrada

I walked into a studio sale in Brooklyn while I was in New York this December and came across this lovely work.  Maybe next Christmas when we're rich?
