I've come across a horribly fantastic show that so happens to run on PBS.  It's called "Tess of the D'Ubervilles" and it's romantic and silly, and really fun to watch.  You can see the first episode here.  I'm warning you though - you'll be hooked.
UPDATE: I watched both of the episodes that make up this mini series and they need to come with a warning - Only watch it if you need a good cry!!!

An American in Paris

I'm cursed with sleeplessness so I watched "An American in Paris" tonight/this morning - sexy poster right??

Gene Kelly is a never hard to watch - some how he makes men in tights manly. What was really stunning about this movie for me was not Mr. Kelly though, not this time anyway. It was Leslie Caron, his love interest in the film.
Turns out she was a French ballerina discovered by Kelly and cast in AAIP when she was just 19. I thought she was so cute!
... and she really reminded me of this look-a-like beauty (and friend of mine) - Mrs. Monica James

I'm sooooo attracted to this photographer: Annabel Mehran
Well her work anyway.
Of course I have to credit {frolic!} once more for introducing me.

Collecting & Displaying

What a lovely display of rocks, I'm glad I'm not the only one that treasures things like this

Beautiful Fishes - I would die for a collection and display like this one

Respectable way to show off your favorite things

mine!

This reminds me of the way I have my things.  I like the irreverence of having such beautiful things in an unconventional pile of a display.  The layers are so nice.

This is a wall of these beautifully decorative golden cubbies stuffed full of trinkets - I'm pretty sure I could fill walls and walls of cubbies like this with all my little things.
I'm not sure if I'm proud of that or not.

Artfully crafted collection of framed images

I love the richness of the inky-black books
with stark accessories & details loosely, yet carefully placed here and there

I love love love collections.  I have an affinity for keeping all sorts of little things to remind me of places, times, and all sorts of details - I guess you could say my blog is a collection of sorts.
These are some images from a book about collecting that I checked out of the library last summer.  I'm just now transferring them from my parents computer to my own.  So much to do, so little time.

Elizabeth Mooney

I found this artist via Micheal Rosenthal Gallery emails I receive [I added myself to their email list after walking in off of the street in San Fransisco]. So far I've only seen Mooney's work through their site - but I would love to see them in person.
Also on the list of upcoming shows at MR Gallery: Amy Casey - just did a post on her work a few weeks ago. [scroll down to check her out]
